The Bible will not only help you face, but will also help you conquer the sin in your life.
“All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for rebuke, for correction, for training in righteousness;”
(2 Timothy 3:16)
“And concerning you, my brothers and sisters, I myself also am convinced that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge and able also to admonish one another.” (Romans 15:14)
As followers of Christ, we are equipped to counsel one another – not from our own ideas, but from the Bible. Biblical counseling or discipleship, consists of lovingly confronting people out of deep concern in order to help them make those changes that God requires. Every believer should learn to disciple others from the Word.
“But we ask you, brothers and sisters, to recognize those who diligently labor among you and are in leadership over you in the Lord, and give you instruction,” (1 Thessalonians 5:12)
This is the calling of every believer:
“And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.””
Mark 16:15-18 NKJV
“Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.”
II Corinthians 5:18-19 NKJV
I’ve been given a ministry of reconciliation, and I take ownership of it. I am called to reconcile people back to God:
- I reconcile their spirits back to God, and help them get saved.
- I reconcile their minds back to God, and bring them deliverence.
- I reconcile their bodies back to God, and bring them healing.
