The best things in life isn’t a thing, it’s a state of being – a state of mind that allows you to enjoy all the good that life has to offer. A person who’s mind is focused on what is positive and true will prosper.
“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”
Philippians 4:8
One would think this is easy, but it has been made difficult. Why? Because a mind at peace can’t be manipulated. The world wants us to constantly have a “fear of missing out” by using emails, texts, phone calls, commercials, pop up ads, billboards… you name it. These media outlets are used to sell you what Christ Jesus already paid for, and what only He can deliver – peace of mind.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”
John 14:27
I’ve learned a valuable lesson in how to protect my peace. Anytime I’m pushed to make an immediate decision – especially if it’s to buy or buy into something, I simply say no. Think about it, if you didn’t know you needed something until someone told you – truth is, you really don’t need it.
To enjoy the best life has to offer, just receive it because it’s paid for – never use your peace as currency.
