Mental Wellness

Fear and anxiety are natural warning signals to take corrective action – out of control they can cause paralysis because they affect how we perceive the world. This paralysis can take us to a dark place. Talking to someone is one of the best ways to shine light on the matter – even the tiniest light will shatter total darkness.

It may not be easy to forget traumatic events in our lives, but we can choose not to remember them – it doesn’t have to be in the forefront of our minds. Reopening wounds (by you or anyone else) prevents them from healing. A mind focused on good things will experience good things – what you tolerate will dominate.

“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.”
