Strength in Peace

What is peace in the Christian faith? It’s the tranquil state of my soul (mind, will, and emotions), being assured of my salvation through Christ, fearing nothing from God, and being content. I have to remember that only good comes from my Heavenly Father. God would never use a sickness, illness, disease, or anything bad to “teach” me anything. I will not allow wrong thinking to prevent me from receiving the blessings that Jesus paid for – that is the deceit of the enemy.

Regardless of what is going on in this world that I am in, I am not of this world because I belong to Christ Jesus. My peace will not be shaken – no matter who is in any political office, the economic state of the country, or the state of the “education” system. God is sovereign, and through Jesus Christ I have dominion – so I’m not a pawn to be played by the principalities of this world.

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV

The media; main stream, social, or otherwise all have agendas. There are no shortages of opinion. I can spend my time listening to all the talking heads or I can be busy about my Father’s business. Knowledge is only beneficial if it’s actually applied. How do I apply something to my life that changes daily – in some cases it seems like hourly? But I know I can apply the Word because “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrews‬ ‭13‬:‭8‬).

The enemy wants to steal my peace so that I can be afflicted with doubt. I cannot pray in faith when I am in doubt.

“But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”

James‬ ‭1‬:‭6‬-‭8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The talking heads want to replace my thoughts with their opinions, and social media influencers want my time to make a living. Jesus Christ gave me Truth and grace that I may live an abundant life with the ability to bless others. To me, the choice was simple.
