“Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins.” (1 Peter 4:8)
“Hatred stirs up strife, But love covers all transgressions.” (Proverbs 10:12)
This may be some hard truth for some people, but if you have hate in your heart – that’s on you. There isn’t a single soul walking on this earth that hasn’t been wronged in some way. You may feel you have been wronged more than most, but the remedy is the same – forgiveness and love. Hate can’t fix anything! “Hatred stirs up strife, But love covers all transgressions.” (Proverbs 10:12)
Brothers and sisters please hear me. We can’t change the past, but we can learn from it. Learning from something doesn’t mean you live in it, in fact it living in the past makes you ineffective. “But Jesus told him, “Anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God.” (Luke 9:62)
You are going to be tempted (regardless of color) to feel shame and guilt about our past as a nation. Make no mistake this is a trick of the enemy. Jesus paid for all sin! You either believe it or you don’t. I’ll say it another way – reparations can’t be paid for a bill that doesn’t exist. I pray your heart is listening. The only thing you owe is love – and even that comes from an overflow of our Lord Jesus Christ!
