What you have is greater

Are you successful?

Before answering that question, think about the standard of measure you are using. Jesus was literally offered the kingdoms of world. How could He refuse? Jesus knew what He had – an intimate relationship with the Father which is far greater. Temporal thinking will keep you from realizing your full potential. Understand that the world can only offer you what is temporary. Jesus taught us; …“For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul?” (Mark 8:36).

There is real value in relationship – and it’s the only thing you can take with you. The temptation to believe that money and power is what makes you successful is great – but remember temptations come from within. “Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone.”(James 1:13).

Here’s a simple formula; desire + opportunity = temptation.

To take it a step further; ungodly desire + opportunity + action = sin. (I’ll talk more about this at a different time).

So back to my original question, are you successful? If your desire is to do God’s will and you are doing what He places on your heart – I submit the world’s richest can’t hold a candle to you. That’s how uniquely gifted you are.

Brothers and sisters, continue to be blessing to others in spite of the world – it is our calling and the wealth it produces can’t be measured.
