Trust in the Lord

In a crisis we immediately go to what we know – based on what experience has taught us that works, or what has been drilled into us to become reflex. My experience in the military as Navy medic is a great example. I received training to take specific actions after a quick assessment without second guessing to save as many lives as possible – time was of the essence.

I’ve learned that God has provided training for me to save lives as well. The Word teaches us to “Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5)

Many of the survival skills we have obtained over the years to deal with day to day life may be in direct contradiction of what the Word instructs us to do. It’s important that we become dedicated students and practitioners of the Word. By taking action according to God’s Word we not only subvert crisis, we also save lives – and our actions have eternal consequences.
